Regulatory Status

What this means for you

Until the required approvals are granted, NBU does not claim to be licensed, accredited or authorized to award degrees. Programs described on this website are planned. Credits and credentials are not currently being offered, and no one should enroll or pay tuition on the basis of this website. Decisions about transferring credit or using a future credential for employment, further study or immigration purposes are yours to make, and you should confirm the status of any institution with the relevant authority.

Where we are in the process

• NBU is organized as a limited liability company under the laws of the District of Columbia.
• NBU is engaged in the institutional development and licensure process for postsecondary institutions in the District of Columbia.
• University representatives have completed the Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) New Applicant Workshop. [Date and document to be confirmed by the founder before launch.]
• NBU intends to pursue appropriate accreditation pathways only after meeting eligibility requirements. Accreditation information will be published only after it is formally granted.

Business certification (not an academic approval)

NBU reports being approved by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority as a Small Local Business Enterprise for certain non-federally-funded contracts, effective through June 8, 2029. This is a business-contracting certification. It is not a license, accreditation or approval to offer academic programs. [Certificate copy to be confirmed by the founder before launch.]
