Work at NBU

Join the founding team of a Washington, DC university in development.

Please read first. NBU is in an institutional development phase and is not licensed, accredited, approved or authorized to confer degrees. Roles are listed as part of NBU's planned structure. Many will be filled only as programs are authorized and funded, so applying places you in NBU's talent pool. A listing is not an offer of employment, and no one is hired until NBU HR completes interviews, reference and credential checks, and any required paperwork.
Founding volunteers wanted. NBU is just beginning and has not yet secured funding. For now, these roles are founding volunteer appointments: the terms are agreed in writing before any work starts, nothing is promised about future pay, and paid positions may follow if and when NBU is funded. Pictures on this page are illustrative stock images, not NBU people.
How it works

Four simple steps

  1. Choose a role

Browse the positions below or ask NIA to help you find one.

  2. Apply with NIA

NIA, our automated assistant, collects your details and résumé and asks a few questions about the role. Prefer a form? Use the form further down.

  3. Live interview

You receive a link to book a live online interview. With your consent, it may be recorded so HR can review it.

  4. NBU HR decides

People at NBU HR review everything and contact you. NIA does not score, rank or reject anyone.

Prefer a form?

Apply without the chat

Pick a position and fill in the form. If you would rather talk it through, open NIA at the bottom right of any page and say “I want to apply for a job.”

  • You can paste a link to your résumé (Google Drive, Dropbox, LinkedIn). To attach a file, use NIA or email it to careers@nationbuilderuniversity.com.
  • Do not send ID, passport, Social Security, bank or card numbers, photos, age or health details. NBU never needs them to review an application.
How NBU handles your application. Your answers and résumé go to NBU HR only. NBU uses them to consider you for roles and keeps them only as long as needed for hiring and as the law requires. You can ask us to delete them at any time by emailing careers@nationbuilderuniversity.com. See the Privacy Policy.

Fair and compliant hiring

NBU considers applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. See our Non-Discrimination Statement. If you need an accommodation to apply or interview, write to accessibility@nationbuilderuniversity.com.

Fair, compliant hiring

NBU participates in E-Verify

As part of our commitment to compliance and fair hiring practices, Nation Builders University uses E-Verify, a service of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires. Esta organización participa en E-Verify.

  • E-Verify is used only after a job offer is accepted and Form I-9 is completed.
  • If E-Verify cannot confirm eligibility, the employee is given written instructions and an opportunity to contact DHS or the Social Security Administration before any action is taken.
  • E-Verify works for everyone. Questions or concerns about E-Verify: call DHS at 888-897-7781 or visit e-verify.gov (opens in a new tab).

E-Verify is a service of DHS and SSA. This statement is not an endorsement of NBU by any government agency.
