Current Status
NBU is not currently licensed, accredited, approved, or authorized to confer degrees.
NBU is currently engaged in the institutional development and higher-education licensure process administered by the Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) through the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
Licensure & Accreditation
Licensure and accreditation are separate processes.
Licensure concerns authorization to operate as an institution of higher education. Accreditation is a separate quality-assurance process conducted by an independent accrediting organization.
NBU's current licensure process does not mean that NBU is currently accredited.
Our Path Forward
NBU is focused on:
Continuing institutional development
Progressing through the applicable DC licensure process
Building strong academic and administrative systems
Developing quality-assurance practices
Pursuing future accreditation objectives when eligible
Our Commitment to Transparency
We believe students and prospective students deserve clear, accurate information about NBU's institutional status.
NBU will update this page as formal milestones are achieved.
Programs, tuition, and credentials described on this website are planned offerings subject to change pending licensure and accreditation review.
